Who are the favorites to win the west region besides Levi Thomet and Allie Ostrander?
Joe Hardy from Seattle Prep. He not only wins West Region, but he wins Footlocker Nationals. Also, look for John Dressel from Mt. Spokane to be about 5-10 seconds back. Levi and Matthew Maton from Summit will run with the group, but I predict that they will finish near Dressel. Maton and Dressel in a battle to the finish line while Levi falls back another 5-10 seconds.
Just my predictions, but that is leaving whoever else might stay with the group. I still pick Joe Hardy as the favorite for the National Title.
Conner Mantz came in 4th at the region and 12th in the nation last year as a sophomore so don't count him out for the win. Also elijah Armstrong had a crappy race last year but is an excellent competitor.
Don't think Maton has lost a race all year long including Border cross against Hardy and he won't this race either. Also Ostrander is a beast reminds me of a female Dunbar being that they are both so fast and from Alaska of all places. Hope both of them pick Oregon in 2 years. Go Ducks
Maton is clearly the favorite here. He's beaten Hardy, Dressel, and Armstrong convincingly in the last month or so. However, so many others could win. Armstrong had a crappy race when he lost to Maton, Hardy is a beast, and Dressel has good history at this race. Any of them could win.
Who makes it out? I'll take:
Hardy
Maton
Dressel
Thomet
Armstrong
Braude (tired from CA races)
Who knows?? (Corcoran and Fahy are the big names I'm missing, but I think it is no coincidence California kids struggled at FL West last year... they will be tired) I think some of the other Weashington kids could be in the mix, I think Stanish may be at FL West and there are certainly others I am forgetting. With Ricky Faure, Haney, and Mantz appearing to have opted for NXN it opens up tons of possibilities.
By the way, Thomet is good, but no way he beats Maton AND Hardy. None.

Connor Mantz qualified for NXN, it would appear. FYI.
I know for a fact that Mantz is also running Footlocker. Similar to last year when Armstrong qualified for NXN and chose to try for Footlocker. He came up just short, with an 11th place finish, but Mantz is a better runner now than Armstrong was last year, so I think he'll be fine.
Is Haney not running?
haney chose nxn

Where is Joe Hardy going to school?
Where is Marissa Williams?
Division 1 Girls - Fiona O'Keeffe (Davis) won while just a sophomore with a time of 16:59. Marissa Williams (Palisades Charter) was 2nd in 17:04 and Destiny Collins led Great Oak with a 3rd place finish in 17:09.

Seattle Prep of course.
Joe hardy is the favorite hands down. don't look at BorderClash to see who is better than who. Most WA guys treat that the way it should be treated, as a friendly competition. Hardy, Dressel and the NC guys never go hard there, why risk the risk of injury?
Hardy ran a 14:45 at the WA state meet and he's ran 8:51. He is peaking for footlocket. Hes probably in good form and may not win FL west, but will win Footlocker.
Do Oregon runners seriously take Border Clash seriously?? If Dressel, Anderson, Hardy and Kai really took BC seriously they could have swept. Marin is just another overrated OR runner who can't keep up with the big WA boys.
That being said, Hardy wins this one hands down.

One boy who has been under the radar his whole high school career is Andrew Tellames of California. 2nd behind Corcoran at state and was top 20 at the west regional last year.
