Well if you never had any money and live on section 8 all your gonna want is money. I have to take the bus everywhere I want to go because my mom doesn't own one, and I don't have anyone else to rely on. You wouldn't understand because you probably never waited for a 2 buses for an hour in sub 10 degree weather to get to school or work. I'm pretty sure I can get through college and med school if I've been going to school from 8-4 run extra fast with little recovery and leave track practice early then work from 6- 10 at mcdonalds and still make a 5.0 GPA on an honors grading scale I could do anything I want.
Cocky as hell, aren't you? Sit down for a few minutes and think about what you typed up. Aren't even in college and you already think med school's gonna be easy and you'll be fine, you better be motivated as hell for it and actually like the field, not just the money. It's people like you that screw up people's impressions of the medical field, please get off your 5.0 high horse and wake up.

Physician and car guy. Daily drive a 2018 Porsche 911 GTS. Previously Cayman GTS (2 seater mid engine). Before that 1st generation Cayman S. All great cars, and all with manual transmission. My commute is a joy. I love my cars and I love my job. Debt free, otherwise I'm pretty frugal. I buy these cars because they give me great joy, and I don't care what others think. But I went into medicine because it was a meaningful profession. It's a long hard road, there are easier ways to make money if that's your goal.

even if I did make the big bucks I probably wouldn't but more than a subaru or something similar. Cars are pretty stupid
My career has been all over the place in a combination of startups, consulting, and strategy/innovation roles. Tesla Model 3 is the best car I've ever owned. I'm loving the free charging and not having to go to a gas station again for the foreseeable future.

Pharmacist.
2005 Scion Xa. It's extremely reliable, and to me that matters more than a flashy performance car. I'd rather spend my money on good food and wine. Sorry.
Firstly: big shout out to the guy who bumped a 5 year old thread and to all you cretins who are chiming in to bash the OP. Strong intellectual stuff here.
Never saw this post, but it makes me chuckle (and yes I realize most any job could be "associated" with the medical profession). You missed the entire intent of my suggestion: people unrelated to the OP's original question will rush to brag about what "cool" car they have.
work in a medical field wrote:
I work in a medical field and I don't drive a car nor do I have a driver's license. I run or use a push bike (or occasionally public transit) to get around. I think that it would be very hypocritical of me to work in a medical field and to drive a car because cars cause grave physical danger to others including children, take up space in urban areas, and pump out toxic gases which cause many severe respiratory and cardiovascular problems over the long term.
Aren't you the pompous, precious, virtue signaling, snowflake.

Whether you're a physician or not, I think you need to look at other things beside the kind of car you're going drive. One poster mentioned how "hard" medical school is......you haven't even gone to college and you've planning on when you're done with med-school. Understand medical school graduates often have large amounts of debt. Good luck.
Physician-2012 pick-up with a few dents on it-3 minute commute though so livin' the dream-don't need to spend a lot on a nice ride for 6 minutes a day! have a couple road bikes probably worth more than my car LOL
