I've been a runner for over 25 years. I've logged somewhere between 65 and 70 thousand miles. I had a torn meniscus repaired 6 years ago in my left knee and just yesterday had the same procedure done in my right knee.
I've been told I need to bike, swim, lift weights etc. I can tolerate those things but I don't enjoy them like running. Not only do I like running, I like competing. Not just against other runners but competing to still run in the low 17's for 5k, sub 36 for 10k. These are not even close to the times I ran 20 years ago but I still love the training, workouts and the journey in general.
Now I wonder if it's time to call it quits on the competitive side and just run a few miles a few times a week, bike a little and just stay generally fit. I know someone in the Let's Run Community may have had similar circumstances do I'm looking for a little feedback.
