just read the coe articles on farah and salazar, and the comment about 60 of a hundred mpw of his training was physiologically worthless because it was run so slow got me thinking. now, im no farah, but by me taking it slow on my easy and recovery days (like if my traiing range is 6:20-7:15 ish) and i go around 7:30 plus in the beginning just cause im sore/tired, does that make my training worthless?
keep in mind, those numbers arent a hundred percent, but just as a range to work with.
my argument is that you should run by feel and if you feel like crap then go slow, if you feel good and dont have a race or insane workout the next day then go with the flow. running like this has also helped me more in workouts this year i think, but i also wasnt in great shape last year when i would be running with my teammates and felt like i was constantly burning.
thoughts?
