What is your 3200/1600m PR, and then what pace do you run around in your training runs? Need advice, thanks! I want to run a 9:30 3200m in the spring and want to train smart.

Basing the pace your easy runs on what you want to run in the spring is not smart. Try again.
Base your runs on effort first and pace second, if at all. If you're having trouble with the effort thing, like most high schoolers seem to, get yourself a heart rate monitor.
Or you could go a different direction where Al Sal says you should never run slower than a minute and a half off your 5k pace. I think he's off his rocker though.
