Last time Webb was on the boards he was running a 13:43 5000m and people were throwing themselves off tall buildings at the inhumanity of it all.

Now he does something any 13:43 guy can do and . . . it's news?
Headline of the near future:
Webb Runs 3:59 Mile, Only 16 Seconds Off World Record!

We're all being sarcastic you big dummy.
and WEBB IS BACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!
I was there and impressed by his run. It was a TOUGH XC course, very European style, none of this sissy American golf course flat business, so the fact he ran sub-5 min pace on a solo effort is impressive.
Webb truly did dominate the field which included 2nd place - O'Neill, Breandan (13:41 5K)- and 3rd place - Jordan Welling (13:50 5K)- from the gun. The fact that he so easily ran away from guys of this caliber is another positive sign that he may very well be on his way to being back.
24:50? You people are busting a nut over his 24:50? I don't care if he beat Geb. 24:50 is good for 1- a retired pro who chooses to compete locally 2- a chick 3- men's masters. The end.

nice one, but yeah.... where's his hair??? I thought transplant's were permanent?? Was his a hair-club for men special?
I've been saying this for years: that's a wig, baby. And not a very good one. I'm glad he's finally stopped wearing it.
Is that Webb or his dad? Dude looking like a grizzled veteran.
Im not sure why we on these boards the obsession with time and how fast somebody ran and what that may correlate to ?
Nobody cares at the elite level with the exception of a course record or to compare what you ran on it last time. Its about who you beat and by how much.
( Porter never wore a watch or Virgin ) It was and is about getting out there in the ruff and tumble and beating other runners !
shades of Ovett...

(and as far as his being the anti-samson, he had his best year right after he got that new head of hair. 'course it was sorta downhill after that, but....initially, the hair seemed to give him a boost)
Samson was on top briefly while/after sleeping with Delilah, and it was all downhill after that as well.
If Strava or some sort of similar app/site were popular with runners, Webb would dominate; he's at his best when it doesn't matter. That's not meant to be a knock, but I think his body releases so much fight-or-flight hormones leading up to and during big competition that he simply can't function properly.
If he really wants to get back on top of the running world, he should head towards the top of the actual world. Send him to Everest base camp for 60 days and he'll be able to lose that 5-8 pounds of muscle that is killing him at the international level.
Not to mention that would create some buzz and Nike would love it. It's out there, but it's not nearly as dumb as riding a bike several thousand miles to go learn capoeira in the quest to open up the hips (cyclists have some of the tightest hip flexors around, Gabe didn't think that one out too well.)

24:50?
As noted several times this was a challenging, slippery course that was longer than prior years and probably long all together. He beat well-trained guys with 13:41 and 13:50 5k PRs by over a minute. Go troll somewhere else.
Watch out Thanksgiving! I bet he crushes the field in a local Turkey Trot this year too!
100 a week (instead of 70) with less intensity

I don't think your 2- makes any sense. Chicks don't run that far. At most they will run perhaps 15 yards or so to find a good hiding spot from a perceived threat. Usually they only need to run 3 or 4 yards to get under the mother hen's wings.
Breaking news !!
It's official: WEBB family faster then GOUCHER family !
