After giving it more thought last night, this morning I decided not to do it. Too much of a commitment. When I told them today, they asked me if I knew anyone who may be interested. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

For all the non-Ohioans out there, oh.milesplit was by far the best resource for following Ohio running. It was always up to date. It was also one of the last comprehensive milesplit sites that remained free. Ones like Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the like required you to pay. Jim did amazing work, and he will be missed very much. I am very upset with what is going in and how this is being handled. Years of hard work and commitment are going down the drain.

Not really.
They provided a service that you enjoyed for the time they did it. The webmasters were kind of like the dads throughout the years who donated their time and money to little league baseball to coach. They get enjoyment from the involvement they have. Usually once their kids get too old, they pass it on to others who have the same interest. While the site may be going down the toilet, it can't diminish the enjoyment you already received from it.
This stuff happens all the time. I truly loved those Tony's Mexican style frozen pizzas. Once they merged with Red Baron, they didn't see the need to have two Mexican style pizzas so they got rid of it. I was disappointed but that still didn't take away from the pure joy I had 30 straight evenings one month I consumed a whole pizza.
Milesplit.com is not out to take your money any more than newspaper journalists or websites are out to take your money.
They do like to pay for a computer or video equipment so they can film your races. They like to eat.
Dude this thread was 5 years old, but yeah I'm sure you are just some random guy that came across it and not a FloTrack/Milesplit shill who did a search and is replying to everything that is negative
They should ban these 2 guys who don’t like Mikesplit and Flotrack. We can all post under multiple names.
You mean ban yourself?
I'm sure several IP addresses complain about Flotrack/Milesplit. I bet the biggest defenders are coming from just a few.
