Hi guys, that is exactly what I am doing.
Only we have a place on the lake and don’t stay with others, and so far have skiied only our local hills.
Where there are Brits.?
Parisians are swarming everywhere right now, they just started 2 weeks of vacation.
We are sort of locals here, and do not spend time with tourists—but the Geneva airport, holy crap. Talk about a petri dish—ski douches from around the world, and a miasma of Brits. Unfortunately we flew commercial and were in the airport with everybody.
The infected people/resort is not where we are, nor will we go there. It is close to places where there is some good skiing, but we won’t be going anywhere near it. Usually we come before all the vacation crap starts, but there was hardly any snow at xmas this season.
I think that the infected guy from Singapore went through the airport on his way to England a few days before we did, so who knows—maybe everybody who went through there has it. If so, it’s game over. The world goes through GVA.
Will be on the hill early tomorrow. We are already avoiding anybody who speaks english, even more so than usual?. I feel like canceling our social engagements, just in case we are infected and asymptomatic, which seems to be a vanishingly low probability proposition. There will be some explaining to do. Also might not do some other side trips like Paris, but I have business to do in a few places that I cannot ignore.
Staying in tonight, hot bath, enjoying the lights off the lake and surfing the web. Will keep you guys posted—boots on the ground! (Not really, but whatever.) ⛷
