Rudisha ran 1.45.9 - 1.44.35 - rest day - then 1.40.91.
Yes, the 84 Olympic 800 was probably the greatest in terms of depth and schedule of any 800m, certainly before it.
Btw, Cruz didn't lead all the way in the final. He let Koech lead, only going to the front at 700m. Nonetheless an incredible sequence.
