I went on a long run today and used the kinvara 4s that i just got and they rubbed against the upper part of the achilles and left a nice sized cut on both achilles, has anyone had any problmes with them, am definetly not buying these again

I had this problem with the Kinvara 3 as well. Are you running them sockless? I had to wear tall socks with mine to avoid rubbing my achilles heel.
I've probably had four or five pairs of Kinvara 3s over the last year, and normally I don't have a problem with this. However, one pair did and tore the hell out of my Achilles. Other than that one pair, I've never had any major problems. If the shoe works otherwise, I'd just go with what the last poster said and wear some slightly taller socks.
All that said, I can't wait to get my hands on some of the 4s.
Besides the achilles issues, how do the new 4's compare to the 3's?
I haven't had that shoe, but I've had the problem with other models in the past. My solution has been to cut away the top centimeter or two of the heel upper. Sometimes I've even cut away more than an inch.
Don't be afraid to modify your shoes. I've had some pairs go from un-runable to favorites after a few modifications. (Mostly cutting away heel upper, cutting a slit across the ball of the foot to widen, and often skipping the bottom few lace holes. Have had to cut away some under the ankle bones before too.)
The Kinvara 4 is a May 1 release from Saucony. If you got a pair early it isn't a production model. Samples Early models are not to production standards.
