First off, as you wrote it there, I don't think there is anything I disagree with. Except for perhaps the idea that it makes a difference whether it's Guans first event, or 300th event.
It's a step in the right direction because it's the first time in several years (forget exactly how many) any slow play penalties have been enforced. It really does need to start at some point.
In response to what's the difference between him and a Chinese kid: absolutely nothing. As I understand it though, and I may not have the full details, Jason Day's group wasn't on the clock, having a timer for how long they had to play each shot.
Keegan, Na, Harrington, Crane, Simpson, etc. should ALL be consistently under pressure. The fact that players are allowed to be almost infinitely slow really isn't a good thing.
