Maybe. That is why we have races. I think at this time I would give it to Abbey.
That's like asking if the best college football team could beat the worst pro team in football, the answer is always a resounding NO.

That's not even close to the same. We've already seen her beat professional runners.
Cain wins by 30 meters.

No, those runners were more like minor leaguers than major leaguers (if you understand a baseball analogy).

Well, you're actually completely wrong, and your analogy is stupid. So let me clarify the original statement for you. We've already seen her beat Abbey D'Agostino head-to-head.
1 Sheila Reid Nike 4:27.02
2 Mary Cain Bronxville, NY 4:28.25
3 Kate Grace Oiselle 4:28.79
4 Emma Coburn University of Colorado 4:29.86
5 Abbey D’Agostino Dartmouth College 4:30.03
Granted, that's a mile, not a 3k, but it's evidence that it would have been a good race at 3k. I'd still give it to D'Agostino, but it's not a crazy question.

No, I'm completely correct. The poster that I was responding to was talking about Cain beating professional runners. Abbey D is not a professional runner. If this was baseball, Abbey D would be a minor league player.
