Yes, that was a surprise. The deck bench detail looks like early 80s.

Not unusual for Portland area. Houses here don't have big back yards. Some people say that's a good thing (no urban sprawl), some people, those who ought to move back to California, bitch about it.
Me, I'm neutral...as long as people who bitch move away.

I just figured he would have something a little newer. He must be doing at least as well as Mo and Mo has a pretty nice place. Maybe Galen is just more financially conservative.
He should have someone pressure wash that block wall though.
Anybody think Salazar and he have ownership in Hydroworx? Or maybe it is Nike-owned?
Well, you can't argue with the ultimate results from this type of weirdness training but I have to say, it looks pretty damn strange! It kind of reminds me of those miniature bowling alleys or mini golf driving ranges that enthusiasts install in their backyard or basements. Hope the dog doesn't do his business in the pool!
I bet he runs nekkid in there.
I sure wood!
My guess is that Galen is just financially conservative. Very smart. He won't be a professional runner forever. And while I'm sure he gets paid well by Nike, he's not bringing in the kind of dough top athletes from other sports do (NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR).

After that silver I'm guessing he's probably going to be a lifetime Nike guy like AlSal and Joanie.
Financially sound? You guys know these things cost $34,000 right? And that's just for the machine. Installation, maintenance, water costs....these things are F'in pricey. And they can't be Nike owned if they have to have it at Rupp's house for liability issues.

Good point. Well then they must have ownership in the company because they're always doing promo videos like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4cLOZ4rca0I think he has at least a partial sponsorship or financial involvement with the people who make this. He's promoted it a few times already.
"Not all castles look like castles."
well.......in this case....
Not all treadmills look like treadmills
I think people were saying he is financially conservative based on the house, not the treadmill.

Yes.

Anybody have a link to the article?
Yeah, you're right. Still, it's clear he's got some money to spend. And what a surprise, a pro distance runner making a wise investment. You don't see many distance runners walking around with 5 gold chains around their necks...yet the kids don't look up to them. I'll never understand it.
And yeah, my guess is that maybe Hydroworx sponsors the oregon project. Look at the machine Rupp is in, it has the Oregon Project logo on it!

How did you and your family get there, buckwad?

ZZZZZ. The inanity of some of you message board rats.
It was published after he graduated and signed his Nike deal that he had just gotten a new Lexus.
