25 minutes comes to mind
5.30 pace is 28.00. I use that as a reference point. For you, give or take time according to ability level.

Why do I get 27:20 instead?
My best time was 28:10 and I sucked balls even in D2. So there's a reference point.
27 min.
26:20

Yup. I would contend for D1 a 25 minute 8k guy is actually below average. For all divisions, yeah probably around 25.
I agree with 27 minutes. It was my fastest time in college, and the only time I finished in the top five for my school.
25 minutes is an average time?
C'mon, most schools outside of the top 30 or so have at LEAST one guy in their top seven that isnt sub 25. Go ten teams down and you probably have guys not breaking 25 in the top 5.
I would say sub 23 you are a super stud
23-23:30 you are a stud, but youre not gonna win the dance. Top 10 though
23:30-24:00 You are great. You are a legit All American Contender on a good day
24:00-24:30 You are very very good. You are going to be top 5 on all but the most elite of programs
24:30-25:00 you are very good
25:00-25:45 you are good
25:45-26:30 you are a thoroughly average runner
26:30-27:30 you are below average but not terrible
above 28:00 I hope you are a mid distance guy, because otherwise you don't really belong here.
