whew hooo! nice job Ducks!!!
I am mildly surprised to see a program like Oregon win this. The Ducks are more focused on spreading their scholarships around to make a strong track and field team, so it is a bit surprising that they could have a championship cross country group to boot. Anyway, quite an accomplishment as they add another trophy to their case.

This season was a perfect storm. First, they had Hasay, and then Allie Woodward coming off a nice freshman track season. Alexi Pappas fell into their lap as a post-grad transfer (still had x-country eligibilty). Strong freshman recruit Annie Leblanc from Quebec exceeded expectations. Katie Conlon, a 10:25 steepler at NAIA school Jamestown, transferred and showed improvement throughout x-country. Sarah Penney, whose Oregon career has been set back with injuries, finally regained fitness this season. Abby Leonardi, freshman from Maine, like Leblanc had a nice freshman x-country season.
Yes, Leblanc ran a surprisingly good race. This young woman started out a good 400m runner, moved up to the 800m (2:03), and has only dabbled in the 1500 (4:20). As a freshman, she has a real future

If you look at the results, she severely crushed every other #5 in the race, especially the ones that mattered. She gained over 50 points on the next three teams.
Here are the ducks.

Hang on - what? What does that even mean? I'm being totally honest here.
She is a fifth-year transfer from Dartmouth.

And the Ivy League schools do not allow competition in the fifth year, as I understand it.

Got it, I think. She had another season of XC eligibility, but couldn't use it running at an Ivy school since she's been there academically for four years?
