Why are there only threads about Northwest D3 regions/teams?
I think it's because Midwest teams that are actually good like NCC, Washington U, Eau Claire and La Crosse are out there RUNNING and not wasting time on Letsrun.

There usually is a Midwest d3 thread. If you want one, then go make it or comment on the one that already exists. I think most everyone in NE would admit that the Midwest region is stronger, but so what? The New England region is very good too. It's fun to talk about running, that's why we all come to this forum. Are you seriously complaining about people coming to a RUNNING FORUM to talk about their region's cross country team?
Also, you wrote Northeast in the thread title and Northwest in your actual message.
Yeah! he's right!

Yes, I can confirm as someone from the midwest, anytime we're not eating, sleeping, or taking a dump, we're running. I'm only posting because I'm on the toilet right now before I get going for my 4th run today.
Even though your statement is somewhat praising midwest runners, you're still an idiot.

Hold your horses there cowboy. Looking at team results last year the midwest was better but only by a small amount, and New England is better in 2012 than in 2011. Let's see how things shake out.

This is always the dumbest attempt at a putdown that you see on running sites. The average 14mile run takes me around 85 minutes. I think I have time for other stuff after that.
There are plenty of Midwest kids on Letsrun, trust me. Just wait until indoor track. The chorus of Midwest guys whining about banked tracks is deafening.

That's because they're right. So many 400-800-1500 kids get bullshit times inflated by running on a bank, which usually ends up in them getting their asses kicked at Nats.
The top D3 schools in the northeast/New England would probably all be better at running, too, if they were 2x - 5x larger and had much lower admissions standards...

I love these excuses. Please, keep them coming. The best school in D3 for running, North Central, has less than 3,000 students. Hell, Calvin isn't a big school and they are mostly drawing from very religious kids, yet they still manage to do well.
this thread is awesome. let's take every single argument ever used in the MW vs NE debate and put them on a single page! no original content allowed

And do any of these whiners know that the WIAC has a conference cap of 24 athletes per team? So 10,000 at a school doesn't really mean much
It's about recruiting, and developing kids (just like every successful program). It doesn't hurt that better HS athletes in the area don't have over-inflated ego's and have no reservations about attending D3 schools. I've been in regions where every 9:45 kid thinks he deserves to sign an NLI with a D1/D2 school and are "above" D3.
