Is Louisville and the NCAA course where NXN will be held this year ?
Course preview:
6/10 from me. Serious lack of hills. I like the twists and turns through the trees though.
The race is over. How about some course reviews from those that ran it?
I ran/jogged the course before the races and it looked great. No bottlnecks but surprisingly, there were a few small muddy spots but no big deal. The course was nice and wide everywhere and I could see where some trees or bushes had been removed to accomodate this race. There was a short stretch of gravel road that probably wasn't runner friendly but there was a grassy area next to it within the course bounds.
I wasn't racing but thought the course was in good shape for Nats.
I do not know if it was the nature of the course that led to the coverage that they did have. They had no cart (was the ground rough in a way that a cart camera would be a problem)?
One advantage of mainly fixed cameras is they they should a lot more than the lead trio, which is always a frustration in a race that is primarily a team race and where no one up front is on a team.
Hey malmo, what do you think would be a cool course for ncaa nats?
Here's an article in a Madison, WI newspaper specifically addressing the course.
Maverick Darling, Mick Byrne, Ashley Buetler and Reed Connor are quoted. Pretty much everything they say has been said in this thread, both the good and the bad. Neither the Terre Haute fanatics nor the Tom Sawyer warts deniers will be happy with everything they read.
Did you people know that JFK was SHOT!!!
Tom Sawyer was extremely boring. Almost as bad as Terre Haute. Incredibly ridiculous and out of the way piss hole towns really suck on it. Next time have it at San Diego Mission Bay which should be the permament location for NCAA D1,D2,D3 and USATF Xc and USATF Club Xc. San Diego is where the OTC is for a good reason.
