Which distance runners could become navy seals?

The USMC should be phased out. With satellites, drones, AWACS, stealh helos, ... the USMC is redundant and 18th C. We don't have Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay anymore. We don't have the 5 Silician Mafia families ruling over New York City anymore either. There no need to have 250,000 punch drunk halfwits locked up in cages ready for the President to order a banzai suicide attack since we have night vision, 24/7 realtime surveillance with polar orbit satellites, and smart bombs with one foot accuracy. Why spend taxpayers monies to compensate police brutality victims perpretreated by ex-Marine mental cases who snuck into the police force. Why spend taxpayer funds on Marines disabled permanently for life by tribalistic beatings and over-the-top aggressive training regimens. It's barbaric to have the USMC in the Year 2012.

david mack is your man.

i met david in his freshman year. he was a really nice fellow to talk to. maybe they got him out of LA (to Oregon) as a change of environment (gang). later on mack however, did exhibit a kind of dangerous aura. one could conjecture that mack even at that time had his own ideas and ethics, which i'd gather are quite different from the average anglo saxon.

mack, like chapa were the guys many thought would challenge world records. it was obvious watching mack run the 400x relay that he would be up there with the best.

it seems to me that mack just had to be the big man, and got caught up in some serious LAPD (gang)bullshit. then again, what else in dew, most police forces in the states these days sport a gang like style of operation.....

swat and special forces training is democratic under the laws of the united states and the guaranteed protections afforded under the u.s. constitution. they can opt out anytime without being punched in the face, rifle butted, limbs broken, choked unconscious, or thrown down the stairs, by simply ringing a bell (navy) or resigning from airborne, delta force, green berets, and para jumpers. so no problem if they don't the like police/military lifestyle.

Answer this question for me please: Why would a nation as rich and as prosperous as the United States be as stupid as you are to think that first responders need to be treated in a harmful manner in order to carry out their duties ?

3 brothers from my high school cross country team all went into the Seals - I think they might have been the first set of 3 brothers in the Seals. The middle one was the best runner and became an instructor. When he was a senior in high school, he set the AZ state record in the the 2 mile every time he ran except for 2 as I recall - one week it was really windy and then in the Luke Greenway meet (after the State meet, another guy beat him but they were both timed in 9:04 which lowered the state record. Of possible interest - this guy's son is or was a professional skateboarder. I think the oldest one finished 2nd in state in cross country.

still we don't need the overhead of duplication and obsolescence with the economy as it stands. since we spent trillions on smart weapons wars of attrition are a thing of the past for the united states. we don't need troops like marines any longer. we don't have muskets, bi-planes, and battleships in the military so why have marines. in the days of iwo jima and khe san we needed marines. but the overhead costs to maintain, train, and deploy old fashioned soldiering are incredible. for example the fighter pilots in the marines are also qualified infantry commando officers who rotate to serve as front line infantry officers every so many years. a great deal of soldiers are injured in training given the brutality and sadism of the methods employed. the pentagon budget is impacted with hospitalization coats and the veterans administration medical system is the hook for the injured soldiers for the rest of their lives. we should phase out the marines and yes, of course, honor the history and sacrifice the soldiers have made for america since the 1700s.
