Bates and Tufts appear to be the early favorites, with Bowdoin and Midd looking strong as well. Both Williams and MIT need to reload, but I think they'll have no problem doing that.
I think bates is the team to beat.
I'm looking forward to seeing Amherst get back towards the top of the region. I see them taking Brandeis' place among the top 10 schools.
Will Conn Coll finally warrant their consistently ranked top 10 status?

What ever happened to USM and Keene? Did they lose accreditation?
Middlebury will be the team to beat come Nov., graduated Schmidt but get everyone else back and a strong freshmen class.

still ok teams, not what they were a few years ago. Additionally, both teams lose their top guys from last year.

Tufts, Bates and Midd all ranked fairly I think. Williams probably a little over-ranked based on what they get back on paper. On the other hand, they have great depth and if 1-2 guys make the jump, then they're a top 10-15 team again. Bowdoin seems about right, Amherst has 4-5 guys that look pretty solid on paper, but after that what do they have? Can't afford any injuries if they want to challenge for a spot.

USM seems to have lost the xc thing but still sent 3 guys to nationals last year in the 800/1500/indoor mile. Keene just seems to have dropped off the map.

When you say solid recruits are we talking above or below what Williams pulls in which is generally around the sub 9:10 two mile arena.

We've never gotten anyone that fast. All of our talent is homegrown; case in point, that one guy out of the 78 on our current roster who had a 10:06 PR in high school is now on varsity.
