Idiot.
Coe received no drafting from 300 - 400 as he was running wide of Cram at the back. That cancels out any drafting he got from 500-600m. Cram got drafting from Kalinkin in the first home straight.
Mckean ran about 803m in 1:44.6. That's equivalent to 1:44.2 for 800m with a 25.2 (on the rails) last 200m.
That does not compare to Coe running 809m in 1:44.5, which is the same as 1:43.3. His 24.8 last 200m running an extra 2m becomes 24.5.
A 1:43.3 with a last 200m of 24.5 is in a different league to a 1:44.2 with a last 200m of 25.2. Get that into your thick skull!
Coe ran 1:43.0 in 85, probably his worst season, when he had persistent back problems and interruptions in training throughout the summer. He just happened to get into a well paced race with Cruz and was able to run at full potential that year. You seem to think that because he didn't run as fast as this in 84 or 86, then he must have been in worse form over 800m. Only an imbecile would make such a deduction.
Coe was in better shape in 84 & 86 than he was in 85. If he could run 1:43.0 & 3:32.1 in the latter season, then he was capable of significantly faster in 84 and 86. He ran a 3:29 off awful pace in 86, which reinforces he was certainly capable of 1:42.5 that year. The 800 was his focus in 86, in 85 he'd been training all winter to run 5000m.
You haven't got a clue.
