It would be very difficult for a company like brooks or asics to pick up a large school. Most schools have contracts with one company that covers every sport (although this seems to be changing more and more) and I doubt many high caliber football and basketball programs want to be sponsored by either of those companies.
Go to an Under Armour college... Enjoy the injuries!

Brooks sponsors Iona's team.
Arkansas switched to Nike a couple years ago

With these smaller schools wearing Brooks, Asics, etc. are they actually "sponsored" or do they just buy that brand of gear? I assume there's a difference.

Chooose a college based on their academic value. If you choose based on which one gives you the shoes you want, you're gonna have a bad time.
