Seattle. Is this a trick question?
Seattle. Is this a trick question?
I'm thinking the question was about chicks not mountains
Seattle is pretty amazing on a nice day. The sound, Mt. Ranier, and the evergreen trees all make Seattle a very beautiful place. The problem is that Seattle gets about thirty nice days a year. The rest of the time, Seattle is gray, gloomy, dark and rainy. Everyone is pale and rosy cheeked from all the cold, damp days.
Houston is hotter than hell in the summer and is generally flat and full of ugly strip malls and McMansions. But four months of summer hell do yeild to eight months of very nice weather. And Houston has some beautiful big old live oak trees and bayous. The downtown skyline lines up nicely with a bayou park.
You would not have to think twice about the question if it weren't for Seattle's awful weather. Houston isn't that ugly, but Seattle's weather makes you have to think for a while before you can say that it is a beautiful city.

I've been to Houston several times, it is the ugliest big city I've ever been to in the US. Never been to Seattle, but for their sake, I hope is prettier than Houston.
Never been to Seattle, but grew up and lived in Houston all my life. It sucks ass, Houston is only last to New Orleans as ugliest places in US.
Houston makes other cities in Texas look attractive by comparison, and that's saying something.

Seattle is full of pu$$ies and girly men.
It takes a tough mutherf@#$er to live in Houston.
Therefore: Houston >>> Seattle
More proof that Texans just ain't right.
Been to Seattle, but not Houston. Wouldn't live in a city that hits 100 degrees with any regularity...oh wait... I live in Philly. But if I were going to choose a different city, I'd definitely pick the one with the cooler weather in summer--hence, Seattle, where, besides, you can get awesome coffee.

If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent Texas and live in Hell.
Sorry but what does being the home of ______ mean anything to anybody under any non-giggly comparison? I can see maybe bill gates having an impact. It's like I see your olajuwon and raise you a kurt cobain?
If I could pick Houston up, I'd throw it on the ground!
I've been to Dallas for a couple days and stopped in Amarillo on the drive east from Albuquerque, in addition to stopping at the Houston airport. The images of Houston I have seen make it look like a paradise compared to the dangerous dump that is Dallas, which totally clears out at night, and the impoverished ghost town of Amarillo, where I was approached for money instantly upon parking.

That made me LOL, thanks!
BTW, a friend of mine that lives in Houston (and has most of her life) posted on Facebook today about how someone's pick-up truck was "creating a shower of sparks as his trailor hitch testicles drag-ass behind him down the interstate."
Good points, but only 1-3 of them actually have anything to do with prettiness/aeshetics, which is our metric here.

Have you been to both? Which would you pick and why?
Lived in Seattle for 2 months and my husband's Aunt lives there. I've also been to Houston a few times.
I have to say, each have their own charm. Just depends on what you're looking for....I lived in Texas for 6 years and visited Houston a few times (maybe not the most exciting place) but other places nearby such as Dallas/Forth Worth, Galveston or even South Padre Island and San Antonio were great places.
I lived in Seattle for 2 months and my husband's aunt lives there--I liked it, lots to do and yes "pretty" city but not sure I would live there permanently. Houses are too close together and on a hill top (no yard). I guess if I was single, then Seattle would be great but being married and having a family, I would probably choose Texas.
oops, didn't mean to repeat myself--forgot my reading glasses!
Houston is a human shithole - pure and simple. There are areas of Texas that can be considered beautiful (Texas Hill Country, Marfa/Alpine), but Houston ain't one of them. Furthermore, people are ignorant, rude, and uncivilized.

Texas is miserable in the summer.
Pacific Northwest is fine for 4 months of spring/summer but depressing and suicidal the rest of the year.
I live in Santa Barbara now.
The human soul deserves to suffer. I recommend May - Sept in Texas and the rest of the year in the Pacific NW.
