Where's he right now? injured?
Why he didn't run at Hengelo?

Who?
Seriously. There is no news whatsoever about the reigning 10000M World champion not running the Ethiopian trial race? He doesn't automatically qualify does he as defending WC? I thought only Bekele as 2008 Olympic champion did.
there are absolutely no automatic qualifying spots for reigning olympic or world champ at the olympics. Jeilan has to get selected. So does bekele.
rumor was that jeilan was hurt. Not a lot of news though
Bump.
Any word?
if you want info, you could try emailing the guys at ethioforums.com as they might be in the know a bit more than us. i've tried, but they weren't in the know in regard to bekele a couple of years ago.... so who knows?
Not sure where it is now, but in one of the interviews the site posted from Pre, Bekele confirmed that Jeilan was out to injury.
That would REALLY be too bad, I thought his bell lap was the best one I have ever seen in a track 10,000m...the closest any distance runner has come to actual sprinting.
Then again, maybe that bell lap was a little too good, a little too much like real sprinting, if you know what I mean.
Now he's "injured". How convenient.
There's that little voice again...
Allah Ahkbar!
Sprintgeezer, this is my response to you
I was the one blowing sunshine up Jeilan's a$$ last year, if you recall. I was even chided by Sir Lance-a-Lot for being too enthusiastic about it, because he thought I said that Jeilan ran THE best-ever last lap, when what I actually said was that Jeilan ran HIS perfect last lap.
So, what is the specific nature of Jeilan's alleged injury?
So by my count, only 2 of the 6 runners who finished ahead of Rupp in the Daegu 10,000M will be running in London. Maybe even just one. Is Tadese running the 10K for Eritrea? If not, Farah is the only one who beat Rupp in Daegu who will race in London.
Obviously there are other great runners to take the place of them. But it is interesting.
