Shelter is not a "capitalist creation." I doubt you'd rather go back to a time where you had to build your own shelter and fight to the death anyone who wanted to take it. With modern technology, thanks to capitalism, there are plenty of ways of living without much intrusion by the government. The problem is you probably don't know how to build such technologies and will have to employ the services of others, who are not going to want to spend the time and energy doing such services for you without something in return.
The reason for the massive inequality you speak of currently is not "capitalism," it's due to high inflation caused by unfettered government spending and borrowing from the federal reserve. You can blame big government for that one.
When a nation, year after year continues down the road of excessive military costs and fail to raise taxes on the most wealthy, eventually aid to senior citizens, orphans, disabled and widows will be cut. About 25 years ago, disabled vets were no longer able to receive both SSI and veteran disability payments. About nine years ago. Social security and military disability payments were to set to grow at 50 basis points less than inflation.
A nation which tells senior citizens, orphans, disabled and widows to survive on less in order to win the next military conflict on the other side of the world, fails. All the big military empires failed.
Just think of it this way: you put your money in their bank, and you get to put yourself in their house.
See how that works? It evens out,
Your money in their bank.
Their house but you in it.
So, it evens out. No problem.
Then you pay the property tax on their house, but they pay you interest for renting storage space in their bank. You are getting interest on renting storage space, which is something of a reversal, in exchange for paying property tax on their property (the house you live in).

Social security and healthcare are the #1 and #2 federal budget categories, with defense at #3. Medicare was 1% less than defense. The top 1% paid 45% of taxes.
Please explain how the government can't afford to take care of people because of billionaires and the military with these figures. I know it's the popular, edgy liberal talking point, but we need more facts and less emotional platitudes to be convinced.

I could give a more detailed response.
1) You did not state my facts regarding disabled vets no longer able to receive ssi and v.a. cash benefits for medical disability is incorrect.
2) You did not state my facts regarding social security and V.A. cash benefits growing at 50 basis points less than rate of inflation is incorrect.
Liberal talking points? #1 & #2 occurred with Democrat U.S. Presidents in office.
3) How can anyone disagree an overly expanded expeditionary military ruined Spanish Empire and Roman Empire?
4) How can anyone disagree that British Empire and Soviet Empire are no longer in existence due to cost of maintaining high military budgets?
5) I have read numerous non-running post by you. You post your geo-political opinions and your U.S. domestic and social opinions. If Alan Dershowitz had a twin, it would be you. I get it, you believe there is an unlimited amount of money for U.S. involvement in Israel and Ukraine.
