Went to an Ivy 11 years ago. I didn't find any network.
I would have better off at a school that had more practical majors like accounting.
Worse decision of my life - not even taking the $ into account.
I took a few accounting classes at local college and then I got into the workplace and starting doing ok, but it had nothing to the ivy league diploma.
The positive was that I learned critical thinking, reading and writing skills - hard to tell from this post I know.
I also gained an appreciation for the classics and good writing. So now I read Flannery O'Conner and Wallace Stevens instead of Stephen King and Tolkien and I toured ancient Greek sites on my honeymoon instead of chilling on a beach in Hawaii.
Bottom line - not worth the money for any one and was definitively the wrong place for me.
I was dork before and after school so I would have done the same any place else - except I would have had better job prospects.
