Sounds like you are still dealing with the rejection of having never been asked out by any of the guys on the XC team. No doubt the ugliness in your written communication is reflective of your physical being, too. Loser.
Do it bro its pretty much the standard on most teams. If you do break up be civil and cool about it so that the awkwardness goes away soon. I have several friends who met their wives this way and almost all the pro guys seem to have married a girl from the team.
There's a reason you both went to the same college, there is a reason you both are out for cross country/track. Obviously you are going to have an attraction to someone who is physically good looking and shares common interests.
Also are we talking about dating, or sleeping around? If you become the team whore or just bounce around between girls you probably don't aim to "date" these girls you probably aim to "bang" these girls which would lead to awkward situations... If you can't be an adult about things you probably shouldn't be dating in the first place.
Or
Maybe you should date someone from another school who is out of shape and hates everything you like (sarcasm in case you are oblivious). But hey, opposites attract.
I say go for it.
By all means tear up as much of the XC @ss and you can get into. It no matter how mad they may get at you it wont matter in 2 yrs.
bang away.
It depends on your maturity level. Whether or not you make things awkward if you break up. Since this is letsrun, I have to assume you're immature and awkward, so don't do it.
Have sex with everyone. It's better than not having sex with everyone, am I right?
I married a girl on my team.
Go for it, they are probably lesbians too!

Yes they did... I feel creepy for knowing that.
My girlfriend and I started dating at the end of my third, her first, college cross country season. It started as (a bit of shame) a post-race drunken hook-up, but within a few weeks (that is often how these things work when you are in such close quarters) we were dating. Thanks to some scholarship opportunities (and an injury), I was able to stay in school for six years (earning two degrees). Therefore, we had almost four years in school to date and run.
It was great. It was difficult. It was an experience.
During her fourth and final year on the team my eligibility had passed (I was still in school, finishing my second degree on a NCAA completion award), and we ceased to see one another everyday in the 'team' atmosphere. This began the (hitherto now) most trying time in our relationship; we were no longer 'teammates who are dating' and became 'people who are dating.' In the Spring of that year, her running her final track season and me student-teaching and coaching, we decided to take a break.
It was horrible. It was difficult. It was an experience.
After a few months (in which we still spoke almost everyday) we got back together, now significantly more open and mature as a couple. We still run (occasionally) and still reminisce about the 'old days,' but I (we) are happier now than I (we) ever was (were). (Actually, she just sat next to me and is reading this over my shoulder.)
Here are my (our) lessons to all you 'kids' who want to date your teammates:
1. Be safe (enough said).
2. Be respectful of your partner when you are around the rest of the team (support one another).
3. Don't be afraid to run together. This is something that (hopefully) you both enjoy - enjoy it together when possible.
P.S. - An ironic thing we realized, our PRs tended to mimic one another. Our 5K PRs tended to be roughly 3 minutes apart (almost exactly).
I don't see a problem with it. I dated most of the girls on my college team between 18 and 22.
attack those freshman as fast as you can

definitely do this, when you get to be like 25 you'll be sorry you didn't hook up with more girls while you had the opportunity. you will never be surrounded by more quality, easy a ss than you are right now in college
(use condoms though for sure)
First thing to remember is that with girls teams especially cross country, there is a high probability that drama will show up on your girls team. I have never seen more drama than that of a girls cross and track team. It is so stupid, they don't know how to deal with problems. They talk behind each others back and then pretend to be friends when in close quarters. I dated a cross country girl and it got me involved in the drama. I didnt even want to be involved. They guys team always settle there problems out in the open. If we had a problem we would make it know talk about it and deal with it. Girls are f ing drama to the max. A girl on the team got elbowed by accident by another girl on our team in a really packed indoor race. She hated her for the rest of her time there and they were friends before that day. She had invited the girl over to her house for family occasions before. After that wouldnt even speak to her. This is one example of many that I think is mainly a problem with girls. I cut of one of my team mates in an indoor 800 to win it over him. I told him sorry and he laughed and said thats racing good job. Advice if there is already drama be weary. If the girls team seems drama free then go for it. I dated girl on and off the team. The ones on the team are better assuming there good looking at your school. The scheduled for a distance runner makes it difficult for girls outside of the team to understand what your going through. I prefer athletic looking girls but I have dated some hot girls that did not do an ounce of exercise and were gifted with a good looks and a body to match. Just watch for drama it makes life much more difficult because the girls usually don't deal with it well. Like I said this may or may not be true for your team but girls = drama so I would say 65 percent of girls teams have issues. If shes hot, normal, and can have a little fun outside of running then its a lock. Remember its only dating have some fun with it, see where it goes.

As another girl, I have to say that sometimes girls like guys on the XC team, whether or not they are troubled or drama queens, but I suppose it depends on the team.
I say go for it, what's the worst that could happen? She turns out to be a troubled drama queen, spreads rumors about why you guys didn't work out, and none of the other girls on the team will date you. Oh wait... but i guess that would solve your problem even in the worst case scenario.
Of course it's a good idea.
The reason lots of guys refrain from dating girls on the team is because cross country runners are usually freakishly incompetent at talking to girls, and the big-team atmosphere that runners get thrown into freshmen year means they never have to work to make their own friends, leaving them with under-developed social skills.
End of thread.
