Solinsky and Rupp DNF with 600 to go and get into a fistfight.
Seriously, at best 8th and 10th for those two.
Lagat, Farrah, and Kipchoge will be the favorites, and we probably won't know the order of finish until the final 70 or 80 meters.

1) This will not be an American Record race. 13:17, 13:45, 13:32, 12:52, 13:00, 12:58, 13:07, 13:16.
Those are the winning times of the WC going backwards. The only one that would be an AR was 2003, and that was arguably the greatest championships 5000 of all time with Kipchoge upsetting Guerrouj and Bekele (although I'm sure a lot of nutters would put Munich). This race will likely be epic, but will disappoint people who put too much stock in times.
2) Three American-based athletes will not sweep the medals. There will be an African based athlete in there.
3) If Bekele runs, he medal.

USA takes a 1-2-3 sweep: Solinsky, Lagat, Rupp.
My reasoning? U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
"Solinsky and Rupp DNF with 600 to go and get into a fistfight."
It's easy to make jokes here but honestly, what in the hell are they going to do about the pushing? Alamirew deliberately shoved Solinsky of the track in Monaco! And Merga was pushing and shoving others as well in that race.
It's one thing to push past or through someone during a race like we've seen so often in the past, but you can't force others off the track if they are in your way. Or pull alongside them and shove them to the inside! When your lapping someone, do you then shove them off the track to the inside to get them out of your way? Alamirew will sabotage Rupp or Solinsky again if something isn't done! Why wasn't something done about that incident already? Those guys need to be publically shamed for their inappropriate behavior during that race!
Back in 2009 Spain's Natalia Rodriguez won the women's 1,500-meter final at the world track and field championship in Berlin, only to be disqualified because of pushing past Ethiopian runner Gelete Burka, who fell to the ground and couldn't finish the race. And you can see from the video clip that it wasn't even intensional! Why aren't they guys getting nailed?
You know god damned well that the Diamond League officials have that full video of Alamirew's deliberate shove and wont post it on You Tube! Complete f@cking cowards! It's all about the money!!!!!!
day goo or night goo?

Where are you people ?!?! When was the last time you saw Lagat out-sprint another Afro-American athlete ?!?! If he keeps putting everything till last 100m he won't win in Daegu... or ever against world-class competition. Calling it like it is....
Pretty sure not all black people are "Afro-American." Just the American ones of African origin.

This is a concern of mine. While i'm all for a little rough and tummble on the track, blatant pushing is not ok. You have to be subtle, imagine it as pouring on the pace. You have to keep pressure and make sure they know you're not there for fun and gmes.
I think some of the africans are concerned that the americans will give them a run for the money (pun intended). I wouldnt be surprised if there's a lot of pushing during the middle segment once everyone is settled down and the pace is steady through the second mile.
I'm sure Schumacher and Salazar have brought this up with their athletes, and they will be ready for it mentally. Its the world championship now, not a diamond league race. If they fall i have a feeling they'll get back up and back into the race, even if theyre trailing.
Forgive any mispellings, i'm on my iphone.
All I hear is a bunch of bitching and whinning. Chris Wusslinsky just needs to grow a pair and be more smart and aggressive. Same with Rupp. When the pace slows like that their is going to be constant contact whether intentional or not. You just have to read the race and put yourself in a position to avoid such contact. It didn't bother Mo Farah nor Lagat. Jeeze I wondor why that is. But somehow out of all the runners who ran at Monaco in the 5k both Ruppclumpsy and Wusslinsky DNF. All this bitching and moaning by their fanbase is getting a little tire some. All I hear is complaints after complaints after complaints. Race like MEN and then you don't have worry about all that other stuff. This is not a fairy sport.
