RQ: If you do decide to become an American citizen, when will you be eligible to compete internationally?
Kimani: This summer.
RQ: It?s just a matter of you applying for citizenship?
Kimami: Yes.
RQ: So, we may see you in the 2004 Olympics.
Kimani: Yes.
RQ: When do you think you?ll come to that decision?
Kimani: I?m thinking about that right now. If I?m going to compete for either Kenya or the United States, I have to make that decision right now.
The world championships are coming up.
I have about six or seven months. The process takes about five months. I have the papers right now.
I?ve talked to people about it and they seem to think it?s the right thing to do, so I?m going to apply for it.
