Why are kids these days bringing their wallets and phones with them on the van to go for a run? In the 90s we never did that $hit. The only thing we brought we water bottles, if that. What, do they all go to lunch together afterwards or something? You'd think they'd wanna shower first. This just seems unecessary.

Well, I am a bit, but not in this instance.
That's probably because phones now are far superior to ones in the 90's... You can do anything with an iPhone. Why not have it?
