I'm trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I sufficently carbo load. I run about 60 miles a week with at least 15 miles at a BQ Marathon Pace. I get in at least 3 long runs of 18-21 miles in the 2 months before the race.
Despite this, in my last 3 marathons, I hit the half way point right on schedule, but right around mile 18 I got tired and sore and dropped my pace 1-2 mpm, which caused me to miss a BQ by 10-15 minutes?
What shouldI work on for my next marathon (CIM)? More miles? More miles at Marathon pace? Something else?
