Now that Chicago is done...where are you gonna try to qualify for the trials? Houston, CIM, other options? Just like to see what you plan to do and where the best chances are...

Anybody going to CIM?
Indianapolis Monumental. Course is very flat. The race is relatively new, but has already had gained a good reputation for being well-organized. There are a few of us going for OTQ there.
Houston has an olympic development program. There will be plenty of trialists to run with.
How many Americans will be in the Marathon trials in 2012? Chicago should have been a much larger qualifying race, will there be less than 50 guys? This might be a very strung out trials.
What?

The trials already has 85 men and 86 women qualified. And there is still another year for the window to be open.
http://www.usatf.org/events/2012/OlympicTrials-Marathon/entry/entryMen/eligible.aspHere is the list for marathon, then click the link for half and 10k. USATF has a running count along the side. And no, they did not count someone twice if they have multiple qualifying times or distances.
I thought the USATF wanted a standard of 2:17 but adopted a 2:19:30 with no B standard. I know I haven't been paying attention for a while but what's the real qualifying standards?
2:19:00 or a top 10 finish at the US marathon champs ( I think you also need to be under 2:22 in that case?). That is why they have a few 2:21's on the list - the times all came at the US champs.
me say what? wrote:

correct! The link above can get you to the standards. This year at twin cities, all the top ten were under 2:19, so the 2:22 didnt even apply then.
so where is there gonna be a group trying to qualify next? CIM...Houston...?
I'd like to know as well
After many struck out at Chicago last weekend, looks like solid runs from Americans Max King, John Crews, and Jason Ordway this weekend.
King ran 2:15:34 for a huge PR at Baltimore, with Crews also PRing in 2:16:46. Ordway won Columbus in 2:18:08.
Still waiting to hear where the next group will be going after sub 2:19...
CIM is the best option left. Last year, Josh Cox PR'd there after stopping to use the bathroom.
Depending on how training goes this winter (I'm in northeast Ohio) I may try at Vermont City in May.
Also, Chicago next year is still an option.
They counted jeff egleston twice.
They will have 50 true marathoners at the trials the rest being track guys. Standerd should be 2:20 for 2012.
