I am sure that if I was British I would feel differently, but as an American, I was bored out of my mind by the whole rivalry. I felt like their unwillingness to race each other was the start of the downfall of track and field popularity. This behavior was obviously continued with Carl Lewis and several others along the way.
I agree with your sentiments exactly although it did provide for a huge anticipation for the showdown at the 1980 Olympics. That was THE sporting story of the week even in the United States. Sports Illustrated Cover-Way to Go Coe! Remember that?
But I agree. The appearance money started to get serious with those guys. Coe I remember reportedly would get 40 grand for the big ones. So they ducked not to risk a loss that would diminish their value.
They set that precedent that led to Carl Lewis and Santa Monica Track Club dictating who was going to run on major meets.
Certainly similar shenanigans were going on in Track before but Coe and Ovett were the major start.

No, silly. Australia has 3 time zones....Eastern, Central, and Western. PST & PDT are North American time zones.
Good name for you. :-)
Would it be too much to ask to have the title of this thread changed to: "Information about Daylight Savings Time?"

Done
"Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain went at each other — are you ready? — 142 times during the 10 years of their rivalry. Russell's Celtics won 85 while Wilt, who was with the Warriors, 76ers and Lakers during that period, was on the winning side 57 times. And that average of more than 14 meetings a year was only during the regular season and playoffs. They also played in many exhibitions against each other.
Now that, friends, is a rivalry."
from wikipedia. Coe and Ovett would have been even more of a sensation if they had actually raced each other between 1980 and 1984 Olympics.

Therefore i have made my point. To review: Presently in north america we are using pdt. not pst. And Australia uses neither.

But your quiz did not reference NA, therefore it must be taken to be all inclusive. Thus my answer -- #1 -- is true as it is currently both February and summer in the southern hemisphere. By your own admission, the other choices must be false.
