no but to feel good enough to kick hard at the end of the race is definitely a by product of epo. most people can run 52 flat, just not at the end of a race. that is where epo comes into play

So when can we see you demonstrate this?

EPO does nothing to increase your base speed. The epo users are more likely to be people with great endurance but not 52 closing speed like Rupp. That's why so many of that type never dare to record a 800 time in a race.
Well, EPO is one of the reasons Lagat is so great at the 1500 yet sucks balls at the 800 - when he actually should be a 1:44 runner. On the other hand, a guy with good speed using something like EPO should be able to take better advantage of his speed at the end of a race, like KB.
Alan Webb has better Pr's in ever distance than Rupp. Why hasn't Alan focused more on 5 and 10k
Ever run or watch a 5K cross country high school race? About 15% of the kids have a great kick when compared to their 5K time. Some folks have a reasonable reserve of fast twitch muscles that are not fatigued at 5K pace. Having that, and then perfecting that, clearly is a trait of our best 5 and 10 K racers.

No, that's because they aren't trying very hard. They aren't running their true 5k pace. Some of the "best" kickers on the roads are 20-minute 5kers.
As a non Rupp supporter until lately, you kick off strength now just pure speed, any good guy would tell you that.
Once he got down to 1:49 at 800 as a 27:34 guy and as an NC cross winner easy over a Chelenga blasting away, this got easier to spot.
he now has some of the tools that make him a contender, not a winner in any race he goes in.
If speed was all that mattered Webb would still be dominating not one guy in these 1500 fields could run 47.x scratch in HS.
