I've seen the Nike Air Zoom Marathoner, are there any others by Nike that people suggest? What does Wanjiru wear?

Not sure what Wanjiru wears, but I don't think that should really influence your choice. Wear what works for you, not a random elite that you like. I like the Lunaracer.
No experience with Adidas.
The Lunaracer is a fantastic shoe from Nike that is super soft and saves the legs. If going for Adidas try the Adios, the shoe Geb wears. It has just enough support, is flexible and most importantly comfortable. I would say it also breathes better than the Lunaracer. If it is going to be hot i would go Adios, but if you easily get sore go Lunaracer.
Adidas Adios is a nice marathon flat.
