"Im totally going to hi-jack this thread. Ive been running in the asics ds trainer 14 and was wondering how this shoe is compared to others as far as support goes? I dont know much about shoes but I liked it because it was light weight and it felt like it had more support than the Brooks Ghost I had been running in. I live in a town with no trails what so ever so have to run on roads all the time so have been thinking about getting a shoe with more support but if the ds trainers have just as much support as others I would like to stay with them. Any suggestions?"
Well, you are correct in thinking that the ds trainer has more support than the brooks ghost, because it does. The Ghost is a lightweight neutral shoe, while the Ds trainer is a lightweight stability shoe. If you notice on the medial side of the ds trainer, there is a grey block, that is Asics duomax midsole material.
I would say to stay with the ds trainer, as long as you have not had any serious issues. Now, another thing to consider is that the DS trainer is light on cushion, maybe going into the 2140 would give you bit more of that.
