I really think that anyone that is running 100 miles a week and doesn't run sub 35 for 10k is doing something seriously wrong. Of course, you can't go from 20 miles a week and 45 min 10ks to sub 35 just by running a couple of big mileage weeks, but any kind of sensible progression to that kind of training will see 99% of people comfortably under 35 mins.
The talent involved is identifying the right training for your goals.
