Steve,
It's absolutely true. If I thought I was trying to show off I would at least give my name or something. Actually, I wouldn't give my name because it's kind of embarrassing to have run that stupidly.
Could you be specific about the location of the markers? If they were on the side of the road they were covered in snow from the plows. As I mentioned I saw a few right on the middle line. Perhaps because I was running faster than I thought I wasn't looking around the right times. I also didn't know where to look.
I really just want to know what happened. It's as simple as that. I would have never though it would feel that easy to run this fast. I was shocked. I have only run 2 marathons and I've only been running distance since 2006. I ran the 1600/800 off of 40mpw max before that. Never ran anything over 10mi at once. So perhaps I'm finally adapting and faster times are to come. I don't know.
Sorry for the "poorly written" posts. I'm a science geek, I can't write for the life of me. I'm working on it though. Thanks to everyone for posting. There is certainly some interesting insight.
As a progress report. I decided that I felt good enough to keep to my training schedule and not take time off like some posters suggested. I ran my best track workout of the year yesterday. So we'll see.
