I'm sure you're just trying to be difficult, but the truth is that Wheating did not get outkicked by Hernandez. He did kick much faster than Hernandez, but as a rookie he waited to long to do it. He clearly ran a faster last 100 meters than everyone in that race and was blowing by as they hit the line. Hernandez didn't even hold him off, Wheating just got going too late. Something he did NOT repeat with Hernandez at the trials.
I do however think he waited too long to go again at the trials where he again was running faster than everyone but Nick with 100 to go and was the fastest in the field over the last 50 meters. He has learned a lot from then to now.
You have to admit, going into NCAA's last spring, on paper, Wheating was not the favorite. He's on a different level.
