I started off at $24,000 a year and it wasn't bad. I also lived in a rural area. My rent was $450 and I was making car and loan payments. I would deffinitely take it, especially if you like the area. Do you get a pay raise once you get your masters?
And to whoever asked about eating on $200 a month, its really easy. I had originally budgeted out par more than that. I was able to buy an HDTV instead. And this was two years ago when they were quite a bit more expensive.
You might eat alot of pasta and chicken, but I sure wasn't starving. Just wait until things are buy one get one at the grocery store and stock up.
An unrelated tip is to get a crock pot. You can put some chicken or a roast in there before work and let it cook/marinade all day and its all ready when you get home. Steam some veggies and there's a perfect meal within 20 minutes of being home.
