And in that 1500 NCAA final it was super windy in Des Moines. Kipyego ran a valiant race before losing right at the end. Winds were 20 mph with gusts in the 25-30 range that day.
There's absolutely no way that Hasay could beat Dibaba in a 1500. Hasay's PR in the 1500 is 4:14.50. I can't find a 1500 time on dibaba but her main competitor and someone that she is equal to or better than on any given day is Meseret Defar. The 1500 PR of Defar is 4:06.12.
i did not say hasay can beat t. dibaba, i am not sure hasay can even beat genzebe dibaba, i just said hasay has a faster personal best in both the open 1500 and 1 mile, yes i know t. dibaba has probably faster in the first 1500 of some races and t. dibaba did run a 4:06 last 1500 in her world record 5k.
i am just being silly/sarcastic as many people on these boards say she is ready for the pros when she still needs a few years of development to HOPEFULLY be able to compete at a professional level. most age group stars dont become stars as professionals in american distance running,
my sarcastic replies were because the op is being silly and sarcastic by putting the subject kipyego is lucky.
hasay is a good prospect, but the odds of her becoming the next debbie heald, polly plummer, vicky cook, carrie garritson, kim mortenson, is a lot better than her being the next t. dibaba, defar, radcliffe etc. i hope hasay proves me wrong and does become a world beater though.
