In a recent interview, she hinted that she might do collegiate running for 1-2 years and then turn pro.
She has also been on the Stanford dorms and really liked it there.
She is DEFINITELY going to Stanford. No doubt about it.

[quote/and there are plenty of Silicon Valley running geeks that literally have the cash bucks in their back pockets who would front her the full 4 year tuition, room, and board on the spot, w/o a receipt, if she verbally committed, and asked one of them at the Stanford Golf Course or at Cobb & Angell.[/quote]Can you do that ? I know an alum can't do that. But can a interested person just give someone 250k to run and attend Stanford ?
Of course it's allowed. It is public knowledge that Galen Rupp receives $100,000 per year in assistance from China through their shell company in Beaverton, Oregon, the Nike Corporation. Do you know how many child and prison laborers it takes to support Rupp ? China is banking alot on young Galen, and we here in Eugene are really indebted to our Chinese friends. Likewise in Jordan Hasay's case, a 3rd party with no connection to Stanford is free to provide money to her. America is a free enterprise system afterall.

Your grey matter, is it pink?
I wanna get away from my parents. That wont happen at Stanford. Plus I heard that ASU is the #1 party school in the nation and I love me some beer. Keg stands til I die!!!
Quintana is from Arroyo Grande so it makes sense that there would be a connection. Arizona State has one of the top honors programs in the country and is one of the top choices for many national merit scholars so I wouldn't call the academics "suspect." I wouldn't be surprised if Az St was in the cards. The Stanford people seem to think everyone should go there just because it's Stanford. Truth is, lots of kids decline Stanford and looking at the women's results from pre-nats, they seem to be making good choices.
coaching?
Since Jordan's entering into her potential college years so far in advance of the next Olympics, I would tend to think the guy who said she'd run college for a year or two and then turn pro is correct. You know...she's still a very young person, and the college running experience is FUN, fer chrissake, it's an experience to value. The money will be there two years from now.
And I'm sure she has enough money considering she drives a Mercedes.
i dont see how she can be faster than me in the mile but sooo much slower in the 5k???
I'm a big Jordan Hasay fan, but it's absurd to talk about a 4:13 15000m runner turning "pro". She's not Alan Webb.
It's not so much the times (which are outstanding for her age.. as shown by her having the HS record), but the image.
For example, a Nike theme of "the small girl keeping up with the big girls" (Jordan looked quite small next to the ladies at the Trials even though she is around 5'3) could market well.
She has been more outstanding in high school than Fernandez and Chanelle Price were, and I believe both of them were offered pro contracts.
Jordon ran 16:27 in 80 degree heat to win Mt. Sac by 20 seconds this morning. And she now wears braces as Iknow many if you want to know ;-)
Braces again???
She had braces sophomore year but got them taken off sometime between December and February.
She didn't have braces over the summer and her teeth were very straight..
Why would she get braces AGAIN?

Must be the steroids and HGH kicking in again.
Dripping sarcasm...
From this thread, I have learned that someone knows a FLN finalist friend of Jordan's.. I will assume this is Ashley Brasovan because both of them visited ASU together and got to see a football game there as well as run with the team.. and that she owns a Mercedes and used to have braces but got them off a few months ago.
That's more than you'll learn from most threads here...

More importantly, you simply DON'T pass up a Stanford education.
Why ever not? She could go to Princeton and get a better education and run for a better team.
Prseident Obama may end very soon W. Bush's Holy Christian Crusade against Islam in the Middle East. If that happens her family may return to Lebanon or Syria. How is the running scene in those countries ? If I were Jordan Hasay I would at least finish up my education at Stanford and then go home and help rebuild my country.
