He is a complete dork. He reminds me of a one man boy band who I would never listen to - I will be interested to see where David Cook goes with his music, I hope he gets the win.
That fat american idol last night who sang at the end - I think Archuleta would have a similar career path. He wins and then fades.

Ah, give the kid a break. He's only 17. The American Idol thing brings no guarantees. Jennifer Hudson was booted way before the final and she now has an Oscar. Tamyra Gray was perhaps the best singer ever on that show and she only finished 4th and hasn't really had a soaring career. Bucky Covington actually sold some CDs!? Clay Aiken has made some cash. Really the only two who have had extended solo careers are Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, and they weren't necessarily the best.
So, while he could fade into obscurity, he's definitely a good singer (though before last night a little inconsistent here and there). All I know is I wish I could sing like that. You say he's a dork. Seems to me he's mature beyond his years not only singing wise, but otherwise also. Early on in the season when he sang Imagine, Simon said, "There are 19 other contestants who are disappointed after that, trust me," Archuleta brushed it off and clapped for the other contestants. Pretty savvy for a 17-year-old kid.
