When I race I feel like my only problem is getting enough oxygen. I can deal with pain and tiredness but I feel like I just cant breath after a certain point. I don't think I am going out to hard or anything and its not like asthma or anything. Its just when I watch people race they seem like its so effortless and they could do it for along time and it seems like it hurts but they can still breath. I feel like I run a good amount (70-90mpw) and my form is pretty good but it just seems like I can't run any faster than what I have and I just keep running the same times all year for the past two/three years. Is there a better way to get oxygen? I am just sick and tired of running mediocre times when I know I can go faster but I just can't seem to do it in races. Is it maybe a mental thing? BTW I am a college student who doesnt have access to a coach at the moment and I am trying to walk on to my college's team. Its a D-1 Cal school.
