The guys were Matt Blaty & Tony Reyes... neither got the chance, as the mile was rarely competed.
How was the weather?
It is great to see Chico put on a distance twilight event. Pretty solid 10K with 5-6 guys under 31 flat. Outside of Drake I don't think the midwest has any 10K's of that quality. Kudos to Gary for putting on a stellar meet that will hopefully continue and grow for many years to come.
the weather was awesome. It was right around 70 degrees with virtually no wind once the sun went down.
MJ, GINA relays and midwest distance solution (at Hilldale) both have pretty deep 10k's
I thought there might be something on the main page about Bauhs, toward the right side but nothing came up. D1 champ Josh McDougal running 3:45 seems to be bigger news than D2 champ running sub 4 in the mile.
Kyle quit a while ago. He was just done with running

Ala Stanford. Good to hear.
Midwaste, that is way to far for me to get on the track and run embarrass myself in the 10K. How was EB?
It was a blast as usual. Oh and the conference was cool too.

Assumma ran 3:56 back in the early 80's (81 I think). I don't know of any other CCAA runner to break 4:00 for a mile. Little known fact, Frank Assumma was the first runner to break 4:00 indoors on English soil.
Jim Shankel, about the same time as Assuma twins, ran around 4 minutes or the metric equal, for Cal Poly SLO, though he was better known for X-C and 5k.
I don't think Schankel cracked four at Cal Poly, but Danny Aldridge might have.

Yeah, that's a damn shame...
