Anyone seen either of these fine bands lately? Neither tour that often anymore, so I'd like to catch one of them.

I saw Rush in Radio City Music Hall for their R30 tour. They rocked. I somehow managed to get 8th row tickets and caught a t-shirt from Alex Lifeson. The best show that I have ever seen. Three hours of new and old music. I never heard Anthem live before so that song made a big impression. They played La Villa Strangiato and Xanadu. My only gripe was that they played some of the "Feedback" material that I wasn't crazy about. Other than that very minor complaint, it was three hours of adrenaline.
I saw them last year in Scranton on the S&A tour. The novelty factor wasn't as strong as in '03, but it was still a great show. The new material is awesome live - so I have no complaints there, but I felt like Alex isn't as "clean" as he used to be. I think that I overlooked this a bit in '03. Nearly a 3 hour show again with no opening act and a small intermission - definitely your money's worth.
So R30 was clearly the best show I've ever seen - the Snakes and Arrows tour was "merely" great. Other great shows I've seen: U2 at Madison Garden, The Eagles at Giants Stadium, The Boss at Continental Arena, Morrisey at a small theater....
Lorenzo, go see Rush if you have the chance. I've seen them twice live and they're phenomenal. Can't comment on Maiden, but Rush is a great, great live band.
Does 1980 count as "lately"?
Saw Rush on the Moving Pictures Tour as a birthday present for my 15th birthday. They were killer.
I saw Rush at the now defunct Texas Jam a long time ago. I'm now envisioning an April 26th that goes as follows:
1. Go watch the Sooner Invitational track meet.
2. See Rush.
3. Get up in time to cheer on a buddy at the Oklahoma City Marathon.
Not a bad day.
Oh, nostalgia... I saw them in '83 for the Grace Under Pressure Tour
Rush seems to do a shed tour almost every Summer, so you will probably have another chance to see them. I can't remember the last time that I saw Iron Maiden touring the U.S., so I would probably go see them.
Why not both? They are playing about a month apart in ABQ.
Maiden

That's a real possibility, but 1) I will have dropped a bundle going to Boston, 2) a wife who likes neither band and two kids at home. Such are the travails of an aging metal head.
Haven't seen them, but I am going to the Iron Maiden show in CA in May.
Skip them both and see John Prine in Vt. Same day.
