Brian has been with MTV in the city for ages. Digital advances long ago destroyed the domestic editorial photo market. It took a while longer, but it's now dead in the rest of the world as well. Consequently, all of the regular race/meet still photographers you see are now retired executives, retired doctors, retired internet multimillionaires, retired high school teachers, retired track coaches, and of course, who could do without the parents and siblings of athletes. Everyone buys their own gear, pays for their own travel, and pays for thir own car and hotel, just like the certified track officials do. I'll retire in a few years or maybe sooner depending on if the buyout price is right. I'll probably be taking your pictures at the next track meet, road race, or marathon. See you there...
Don't you know Art School photography grads always end up working at the camera store.
Photorun went bankrupt.
Definitely the best of the rapidly growing volunteer photographer corps

Always a little late ;( but thanks fellas ;)
At my school you have to be Asian to be a good photographer, no "Myers" are allowed to have a press pass.
Point-and-shoots are just amazing in quality now. Consequently expect news images to fetch $250. After 4-12 hours maybe $100. After 24 hours 'file photos' fetch $10-$2.
