It's almost two weeks before the world cross trials in San Diego, and I've not heard squat about the meet.
Who's showing up? Will it be a shadow of what Boulder was like last year? More importantly, who has the TV rights for it?

No-one is interested, Kenyans,Ethiopians and Eritreans will
win all the medals. What's the point of having trials to see who goes and gets there ass kicked.Names will be drawn out of a hat instead.
sorry "their instead of there"
must find out how to edit one day.I can't type as fast as I think.I am a dyslexic typist.
After all the USA winners no showed at Mombasa, who cares about San Diego. They should have a BCS poll with sportwriters decide the USA XCs and spend the money on lavish perks for Roe, Hightower, etc. The wimps don't want to run against the Kenyans and Ethiopians anyways. But Ryan Shay ran !
Once it's own it's on the internet, 10,000 websites will have fan video and broadcast video, 9,999 outside of the U.S. There no such thing as 'video rights' anymore. "Show it once, and it's public domain" that's the rule now.
i was told wassers/global/espn2 only have the initial rights and after they show it, it\'s fair use, to be spread free all across the world, on 1,000s of video servers. is that the case ?
Is USATF going to send a full team this year or are they going to change the number of qualifying athletes after the fact?
Incomplete teams leads to poor turnout.
OK, so last year we held trials in the snow in Boulder to pick a team to race in Mombassa, the hottest place on Earth. This year the world meet is in northern Scotland in March, and we hold the trials in San Diego.
It really doesn't have anything to do with sending the most competitive team, does it?
Boulder, for me, was great and at the same time a buzz kill. I actually had to ask someone when this meet was going to be (I am the one who is usually on top of this stuff).
Ryan Hall is entered, so that's a good thing!
The usual suspects are coming out of the woodwork (Fleshman, Russell, Galaviz, Aish), plus some of the young buckettes (Amy Hastings).
On the junior men's side, German Fernandez, the Foot Locker west region champ is entered.
Interesting to see the entries coming in the next week.
I went to Boulder to watch the national X-C race last year and enjoyed it so much that I'm going back to San Diego to see this year's meet. To me, its only secondary that this is the World X-C qualifier. The primary thing is that it's the national championship.
At least you have high expectations.

Well, it's completely fair to say that I have "expectations." I don't expect the meet to be an all-time barnburner, but I certainly do think it will be fun and exciting. It's nice, in fact, that there is basically no "hype" for the meet to live up to. Whatever happens, happens...
Hasay isn't entered for Jr. Women?? Thought she said she was going to run it?
ooo many great runners didn't show at last year's usa cross in boulder. then to compound the slight, a larger number of the boulder winners dropped out of going to mombasa. thus now there is a complete lack of interest in this year's usa cross country championships in san diego. you have to admit, there is so many other things for the kids to do, like study and get ready for college. spring relays are a few weeks away and the entire grueling outdoor season is coming up. usa cross may be at an all time low after the usa's double boulder/mombasa disasters.
Those stupid dopes at Boulder turned down the free labor and publicity that flocasts offered them. No wonder USA cross has become an after thought for fans. Athletes don't show. Athlete's who win don't want to represent the USA flag. Sponsors don't fork up prize money. Who the hell is in charge ?
if ryan hall is enetered where is dobson?
hopefully ritz will be there.
I am interested in seeing some of the other divisons too, besides the Open.....I want to see the legendary Henry Rono in the masters race.
Are more people going to enter, or is this just the least competitive year ever?
Yeah, those stupid dopes in Boulder. Man, they had it all wrong. What a bunch of idiots.
