An argument came up on the name of an equation and i wanted your esteemed letsrun input, wit, sarcasm, contempt and all.
2X + 3Y = 5 is a linear equation.
Whats the best description for something like 3X = 5X + 7.
What would you call it? Is it still a linear equation because it becomes X = -7? Or is there some other word to better describe it?
Secondly if you asked someone to graph 3X = 5X + 7 would you expect a point on the number line or a vertical line?
