A question for the distance guys. Are you running race pace track repeats this month (January)? How much do you focus on the indoor season versus the outdoor season?
ive done one so far!
i'm still in HS but i haven't done any speed. i probably focus on the two equally--indoor because its easier to look fast because all the times are slow since most people are out of racing shape and i focus on outdoor because that's when the times actually matter.
We run one track workout a week, like 8 x 1k at 5k race pace. We focus more on outdoors.
we are put through hard fast track rep session every tuesday evening. stuff like 400,600 and 800's or 5x1mile with 1min recovery at 5.30 pace.
Do a 15 min jog warm up and some stretches first.
We are committed to xc scene at present.
Its tough trackwork on cold dark winter nights but we keep each each other motivated and coach is tough!
