I'm talking accomplished runners, not longtime employees like Hollister or Johnson (guessing from memory).
I'd bet Salazar or Joanie. Have they been paid at least something by Nike since the late 70s or early 80s?

Salazar has only been working for Nike since the early 90s.
Phil Knight.
pre or family thereof
Obviously the guys who have been there the longest.
Geoff Hollister comes to mind.
Frank from accounting...he's been with the company since I don't know, forever
If you don't want to count guys like Hollister, Nelson Farris, etc., I'd have to put Tinker Hatfield (ex-Oregon pole vaulter) up there.
He really didn't do anything big in his career at Nike...other than designing several versions of the Air Jordan for His Airness.
Tinker's gotten back in the track & field game, designing the shoe that won the 2004 men's Olympic pole vault and this year's men's pole vault and high jumps at the world championships. Unfortunately, he hasn't convinced Teg to run 10k or even try pole vaulting.

Hollister wasn't an accomplished runner.
who cares, shitty shoes, shitty company funding druggies, Yeah, I said it..
I thought he was replaced by Bob from AccounTemps?
Accounting was outsourced to India several years ago.
True, didn't read your post, just the subject.
Has to be Joanie and Salazar then. Can't think of other athletes that are icons from '70's that would apply. Although I would bet Pre's family might be collecting something from Nike over the years. Use of his image over the years.
alberto got paid before joan, most likely it is him as i am too lazy to think hard about the question.

those are good guesses. i wonder who has a contract with other companies the longest. i know Fosbury is with Adidas still. I assume he has been since at least the early '70s. Not sure when, exactly. He won in '68 but was in college still.

Manufacturing outsourced to China, workers get 89 cents an hour. Greed. They'd still make millions if they paid the American workers $15 an hour. But pay foreign runners who are probably juicing millions? Yep.

No, the American Workers would work half as many hours and demand retirement at 55 with full benefits, the reason why noone manufactures in America anymore? We ask for too much from too little, IMHO.
Back on topic, I would guess Joan Benoit, anyone about Pre-1980 has either gotten out of the sport altogether or isn't still racing.
